It's that time of year again. Time for Christmas shopping, panto and end-of-year pub quizzes. Ah, December.
In their last film pub quiz spectacular or the year, the You're Gonna Need A Bigger Boat team has pulled out all the stops, and you'd best brush up on your film trivia. If you've not been to one of these amazingly fun nights before, and have an otherwise boring Wednesday night lying in front of you, you'd do well to get yourself up to Highgate and get mentally prepared for a pretty challenging, and very fun, night.
What can you expect from an end-of-year quiz? A few Christmas questions in honour of the festive season, but most of the questions will be about films released in the last year. That could be tricky since there have been quite a few films released in the last year, but as long as a fair number of the questions are about Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, we should be just fine.
Londonist has a love/hate relationship with the You're Gonna Need A Bigger Boat Film Quiz, as we absolutely love how smart and funny and entertaining it is, but hate that it proves we're not quite as clever as we thought we were. (We were quite demoralized the last time we were there, when our team thought we were quite clever by choosing Highlander 2 as the answer to a dialogue question. The correct answer was The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. What were we thinking??)
We may have doubts about our own film savvy, but we're sure you're up to the challenge. And in case you were wondering – yes, it's definitely worth the trip to Highgate.
