Taste Spain, Friday 12 to Friday 19 October

For anyone who wants to imagine they are abroad in sunnier climates while London turns damply autumnal, the flavours of Spain are coming to London for a week in Taste Spain. Being quite a sophisticated city in terms of culinary acuity, Londoners know there is more to the cuisine than paella and sangria, so the programme of events and things on offer are of very high quality. We're impressed. And hungry.

What's happening? Well... A special Spanish food market in Chelsea, Spanish entertainment and cooking demonstrations by chefs flown over for the occasion in Borough Market (plus lots of food and wine to take home, of course) and a 'tapathon' at Camino restaurant in Kings Cross are the highlights. Alongside this, restaurants and shops will be taking part so keep an eye out for Taste Spain things happening locally. The ultimate souvenir of this festival is not indigestion or a hangover but 1080 Recipes, the bible of Spanish cookery which is being launched as part of the week's festivities. It should keep you busy until the next Taste Spain comes back to London.

And in case you need a bit of briefing on what you're going to see and hopefully taste, here's our brief guide on What To Order.

Taste Spain, various locations across London, from Friday 12 October to Friday 19 October. For the full programme of events, go to the Taste Spain website here.
