Review: Free Halloween Party at Black Pearl Boutique

Last Friday’s Halloween Party at Black Pearl Boutique was a spooky retro blast. Jack-o-Lantern orange cocktails were served by a dead cheerleader and (what Londonist reckons was) a zombie prom queen. And if you’ve never had Jack-o-Lantern orange cocktails served by a dead cheerleader and a zombie prom queen, you’ll be pleased to know that they are exceptionally potent with booze. The party was also a frighteningly clever excuse for a bit of shopping: roving vintage clothing boutique Frillseekers were on hand selling racks upon racks of vintage cloths from the 40s to the 80s and “occasionally some earlier treasures.”

Halloween party or not, Black Pearl is still a fun retail space to visit any time. Where else are Londoners to buy their sparkly nipple tassels in an upscale thatch ceiling shop that evokes the spirit of 1950s tiki bars?

Black Pearl Boutique is located at Unit 2.10 Kingly Court (2nd Floor) just off of Carnaby Street. For more information visit blackpearlboutique.co.uk. Visit Frillseekersvintage.com for info about upcoming Frillseeker dates and venues.
