We all know we should walk more. And we all know that gyms are dull and boring. So here's an event that means you can walk about and get fit as well as getting to see as much art as your little peepers can handle.

E17 Art Trail means you can get fit and see exhibitions all at the same time. All you need to do is pick up a map, get to Walthamstow and get going! You're not likely to get bored. There's 67 venues holding 97 exhibitions. There's over 300 artists taking part so there will be something to interest even the fussiest art lovers.

This is interactive art at it's best. You never know where the art is going to appear around the corner or if you're going to get to meet the artists (some of them could be in their gardens while you're sneaking round looking at sculptures). You can also take part yourself. E17 Art Trail is asking people to decorate trees on their way to add to the exhibition. This is a great idea, but please be nice to the tree while you're getting in touch with your inner artist.

Some of the art will be for sale so you could pick yourself up a bargain. All this and getting fit! Art events don't get much better than this.

All you need to do is pick up a map from any of the participating venues. There's also an interactive map online so you can take a look at any new art that goes up throughout the week. Though Londonist thinks it might be more fun to leave the map at home and just see what you find along the way.

E17 Art Trail is on from 1st - 7th September. Time and venues vary, but that's the whole point, isn't it? Still, we suggest you take a look at the website if you want more details.
