Music Choice: Monday 13th August - Friday 17th
Tegan and Sara

Monday night seems all is dead in the capital, with New York kids Matt & Kim playing their power pop at The Cuban, Camden. Tickets are still available at £5 each.

Pink starts a two night V Fest warm up on Tuesday at Carling Academy Brixton. Tickets are sold out, however be sure to check out Scarlet Mist or other methods of getting unwanted tickets. Skinny Puppy bring their industrial goth electro-rock to the Astoria, with tickets still available at £17.50 each. Post-hardcore rock stars Sparta play ULU also, with £9 tickets still available.

Zico Chain play their fuzzed up rock at the Barfly on Wednesday tickets are £7 each. If you like your music a bit quieter and folk based, then David Thomas Broughton’s gig at 93 Feet East is for you. Building up ensemble sounds by sampling many of his own sounds, this sounds like it could be one of the best gigs of the week. Tickets are £8 each.

Thursday looks like it could be one of the best nights of the week music wise, with Canadian duo Tegan and Sara playing their chilled out indie pop at Bush Hall. Tickets are unfortunately all gone, however be sure to check Scarlet Mist for last minute returns. Spoon start the first of a two night stint in the capital at Cargo, though once again tickets are all gone. Goo Goo Dolls play Hammersmith Apollo, though tickets are all gone for that as well. Fightstar play Scala (though chant for Busted at your peril… trust this Londonista on that one!) Tickets are £12 each.

Spoon finish their two night London stay at the Borderline on Friday night, with tickets at £12.50 still available. Folky singer songwriter Martha Wainwright plays Shepherds Bush Empire, with tickets at £16.50 still available.
