As the silly season draws to an end, the Tories are trying to regain the iniative in the battle to be London's next mayor with claims of Labour plots to rig the ballot and a ruse to appear unfazed about this by allowing Labour supporters to quiz their candidates at various sets of hustings around the capital.
But who cares? Who cares when another candidate waits in the wings, with The KLF, Billy Childish and Jamie Reid as his brains trust? Step forward the, erm, Assistant, The Aquarium Gallery's Situationist-style candidate for Mayor of London in 2008. It all sounds like a rejected plot for a Batman movie.
