This is a new weekend column brought to you by the founders of Niceties Tokens, Liz and Pete of Team Nice.

3. Moustaches and Manifestos

So far, it’d been a pretty action packed day.

First we’d seen the Shadow Minister for London, who had suggested that regard for issues of respect and social responsibility appeared to be on the rise after a period of neglect over recent years and decades.

We’d then encountered the Brian Haw demonstration at Parliament Square. Brian’s comrade Maria suggested that corporate greed and predatory practices were ultimately unsustainable (not to mention morally suspect) and that the corporate world with its faceless anonymity was making us all forget each other.

Sitting in a nearby pub afterwards Liz and I chatted about what it all meant. We decided that it wasn’t really all that complicated after all.

We decided that Social Responsibility at its core is about respecting each other. In particular this extends beyond friends and family to include society at large; there are encouraging signs of the pendulum swinging back as these ideas gain in popularity, once again.

So we smash anti-social behaviour by ordinary daily acts of kindness and respect, the sort each of us do every day in our best moments. It's all about everyday quality of life, and raising a smile, because they're infectious. So that means engaging with each other and remembering we are all the same.

Some of the ways that Team Nice does this include passing around Niceties Tokens, having parties and wearing false moustaches (the moustaches are optional, I guess).

So that’s the draft version of the Team Nice manifesto, it’s short but sweet.

1. Have Fun.

2. Save The World.

Looks good on paper, but how do we put it into practise?...
