Pub Ban After Pub Brawl

We're not going to lie to you – Londonist likes a pint now and then. And, on occasion, we've been known to get a bit drunk. So, if we were going to set out to get ourselves barred from every pub in a London borough, we would probably take it one pub at a time. And, because we're not really very troublesome, it would probably take a very long time to manage it.

A Hounslow man has just taken a more direct route though. After a pub brawl in January, he's just been given an Asbo which bans him from every pub in Hounslow for five years. Saed 'Jimmy' Alia is also banned from

entering or attempting to enter any licensed premises within the borough of Hounslow, being part of any group of three or more people within Hounslow where any member of that group is acting in a manner causing or likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress or engaging in any behaviour which causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any person.

Hounslow council is clearly being very forward thinking here and sending a strong message not only to pub goers who might normally get in fights, but also to all those smokers who are going to be frustrated and having nicotine attacks after the smoking ban on Sunday. Remember, go outside and have a cigarette – don't punch anybody.
