As both bands and fans saunter back to the capital with the mother of all hangovers from Glastonbury, this week is a bit slow for music in the capital. Things are also running a bit slow for this Londonista, thus the later than normal posting of this weeks listings.

Tonight sees Camden post-hardcore Hell is for Heroes play the Barfly, whilst Jason Molina fronted alt-country collective Magnolia Electric Co. play Scala. Hell is For Heroes are sold out, however tickets are still available for Magnolia Electric Co. at £15 each.

Tuesday sees Beirut play to a sold out Koko in Camden, Dinosaur Jr. play Scala, American rockers Devo play Shepherds Bush and The Who start a two night run at Wembley Arena. Tickets are still available for Devo (at £35 each plus booking fees), Dinosaur Jr. tickets may be available on the door, but best to give the box office a call on 020 7833 2022 before setting out. The Who’s Tuesday show is sold out, but tickets are still available (at £65 a pop) for their Wednesday night show here.

Wednesday night sees those dreary Irish guys Snow Patrol plays the O2 (or the Millennium Dome, dependent on what you want to call it. Tickets are long gone, but you may be able to find some on the likes of Scarlet Mist. Snow Patrol are also playing the Thursday night for arena workers and locals, so you may be able to blag yourself a few tickets to that with a bit of research. Support on both nights comes from Ash and The Twilight Sad. Wednesday night Fat Freddy’s Drop bring their unique brand of downtempo dub and reggae to the Astoria. Tickets are sold out however, though once again you may have some luck trying out the murky backwaters of the internet.

Sons and Daughters bring their folk-rock to The Luminaire on Thursday, with tickets sold out. Hexstatic bring their trip-hop to Cargo for the launch of their new album. Tickets are £10 from here.

Interestingly named punk rockers Me First and the Gimme Gimmes play The Forum on Friday night. Tickets are £15 each from here.
