Cabaret At GDA Tonight!

If you’re up for something other than just getting bank holiday Friday wasted this evening then get your artsy alternative arse down to gDA Cabaret in Greenwich.

Curated by contemporary dance duo h2dance the bill is not your average feather boa and comedy turn. Lined up are performances from Wendy Houston, A2 Company doing things with tights and h2 themselves promising a mixed bag of movement based, experimental theatre and contemporary dance crossed over with a wicked sense of humour.

We’ve no idea what Pippistrozzi and Guerrini Pace and Colorific Quartet do but when we find out we’ll let you know.

There will also be film from Ursula Martinez, who, according to her website, “sets fire to her tits”. Compering this motley crew are the New Art Club boys and if that wasn’t enough, you greedy things, there’s a DJ and the house Latin-jazz band, The Alex Wilson trio.

Call gDA now 020 8293 9741 and ask for “mates rates” to get in for a tenner.

Colorific Quartet are a thrown together Shoreditch cod Gossip type band that play to a film of an old fashioned alarm clock and might improvise it all - we just don't know.

Pippistrozzi & Guerrini Pace are a fabulous double act of Baroque Italian divas satirising modern arts council style approaches to box ticking art, the inaccessibility of contemporary dance and the incomprehensibility of much period opera. Marvellous rendition of Rossini's Meow. Oh, and one of them is a bloke in a dress. Top stuff.

And we won a prize in the raffle which is two tickets to the next cabaret so watch out for an big give away in June.
