More fatal gun crime:

Officers were called to reports of a shooting in Scrubs Lane at 1615 GMT on Sunday afternoon. The victim, a 21-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Monday.

In a separate incident a policer officer was shot in South London:

The officer, from Southwark, was unhurt in the shooting in Beaton Close, Peckham, in the early hours of Sunday. No-one has been arrested but armed officers were brought in and a house in the area was searched. The officer was shot by a youth who was part of a group that appeared while the policeman was talking to another group of youngsters about a moped. A police spokesman would not say what type of firearm was used, but said no weapon had been recovered at the scene.

We also just learned that 15-year-old Michael Dosunmu was killed by a machine gun, a Mac 10 to be precise.

Speaking about how she tried to resuscitate her brother, Shakira told BBC One's Crimewatch: "I did CPR for him, I did it for the 15 times I put air in his mouth - nothing. I did it again - I was just screaming. I said, 'Michael you can't leave me like this. Michael, Michael, Michael - wake up, wake, wake up', but he didn't respond."

And the police are to release CCTV footage following the death of Daniel Ross who was shot in the head at the Scala last September. They are offering a £20,000 reward for information about the murder.

Meanwhile in Washington DC, the FBI are investigating the shooting of a Russian intelligence analyst. The London connection? Paul Joyal only days earlier had said that Moscow was involved in the poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko.
