Camden Crawl Line-Up

Every year the Londonist team hits Camden for one mad night of dashing from venue to venue necking pints for Camden Crawl. This year, in all their money-spinning wisdom, the crawl has been expanded to two nights. We're not quite sure how much this is going to work (and with tickets at £26 a day, makes it a much more expensive proposition) but we'll no doubt give it ago.

Today the first line-up has been announced and it's looking pretty nice in a middling indie band way. We are particularly excited about the ones in bold. Which others do you recommend?:

Air Traffic / Akala / The Barker Band / Blood Red Shoes / Bonde Do Role / Cajun Dance Party / Calvin Harris / Cherry Ghost / Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip / Emmy The Great / Example / Findlay Brown / Foals / Friendly Fires / Hadouken! / Hot Club De Paris /I Am Kloot / I Was ACub Scout / Kid Harpoon / Killa Kella / Kitty Daisy & Lewis / Late Of The Pier / Marvin The Martian / Kate Nash / Jack Penate / Professor Green / Pull Tiger Tail / Shy Child / Statik / These New Puritans / Tigerforce / Xerox Teens

Adele / Fear Of Music / Foreign Beggars / Goose / i Like Trains / Johnossi / Loney, Dear / Laura Marling / Malcom Middleton / New Young Pony Club / Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man / Popular Workshop / Shakes / Simple Kid

Alterkicks / Chrome Hoof / The Dykeenies / Fear Of Flying / Eamon Hamilton (Brakes) / The Hot Puppies / Hafdis Huld / I Say Marvin / Ali Love / Pete And The Pirates / Polytechnic / Roll Deep / Vincent Vincent And The Villains / The Whip

Hey Talia - I've heard good things about 'I am Kloot' and 'Cajun Dance Party' E.

Good question - Dan le Sac vs Scoobius Pip has been getting a heck of lot of national airtime with that track in which he (I presume Scoobius Pip?) rants about things that get his goat. Might be quite good live, although probably more enjoyable to see them at the Lock Tavern this Sunday over a roast. Hot Club De Paris are worth seeing, as is Findlay Brown - I saw him at the Strongroom on Saturday night supporting Shoreline (who are great when their set isn't accompanied by blast of raucous feed-back) and enjoyed his set - quite surprised to see a poster for his album on the tube!

Mark Walley

Malcolm Middleton is absolutely wonderful. Check him out (Download Choir off iTunes to understand why). Actually, he's really the only one on the list so far that makes me very excited, unless they bring out some good announcements I'm swapping my tickets for Biffy Clyro supporting Bloc Party on the Friday.

I can only assume that this lineup is somewhat early days, and that we'll see some more "big guns" coming out of the woodwork by April. Remember, last year ended up having Dirty Pretty Things and Wolfmother, after all.

I remember the first one I went to (2005) had all kinds of up and comers, from Art Brut to the Magic Numbers, Towers of London and Maximo Park. There was as I recall a poorly-kept secret that came out the week of the crawl that the Buzzcocks were going to play the Electric Ballroom (or am I making that up?)

City Slicker

Just saw Jack Penate or JUST JACK at scala last night. He was abolsutely brilliant!

You know Jack Penate and Just Jack are different people yeah? It's not a secret alias.

Hmm London has just gone bright pink

I would highly recommend The Xerox Teens, saw them at the Buffallo Bar and The Macbeth on Hoxton Street and they blew me away.

I've seen both Akala and Example live before and they are both worth checking out. Akala won a MOBO this year which is great for an artist who put out his own album.

It sucks being a student and not having the money to go, but it's a great line-up for those of you who can make it!

Chrome Hoof will turn your brains inside out, melt your face, eyes bulge and blow your eardrums too. Put THEM in bold. they're nuckin' futz! jeez.

heard good things about Cajun Dance Party and Goose, should be good
