Nothing beats Monday night clubbing

If you've seen the cute and colourful video to Annie Mac favourite and Crazy Itch Radio highlight Take Me Back To Your House, then not only will you be rejoicing at the first Basement Jaxx video in a while to not include eye-avertingly massive breasts, but you'll have unbeknown to yourself, been introduced to the wonderful world of Dragonette.

Dragonette sees said vocalist, Martina Sorbera, joined by three Canadian musicians to create sparkly, glamorous, electro-pop which teases together the sounds of a young Madonna with some nasty squelchy basslines. One of our favourite pop bloggers sums them up quite neatly as:

Dragonette dress like they’re the support act at young Abe’s Bar Mitzah and sound like they’re the soundtrack to Molly Ringwald and Matthew Broderick tonguing in the corridor of the best 80s bratpack movie ever.

The band play only their second London gig tonight at Rockstarz - a new polysexual band and indie night held at cosy West End club Ghetto on Falconberg Court. Entry is £3 from 10.30pm with drinks from only £2. We've got a pair of guestlist entries to give away so if you fancy it, simply email [email protected], and we'll see what we can do!
