Black History Month: London Writing Competition

We always get very excited when we hear about writing competitions. We sit around mulling over various ideas and typing up a few loose notes. Until suddenly it's two weeks later, life gets in the way, and the deadline passes - taking any hopes of everlasting literary fame with it.

So, we're hoping that you readers are more disciplined bunch than us. Our friends over at Untold London are running a smashing little writing comp as part of Black History Month. Details are on their site (well worth a browse), but basically they want 500-1000 words on any aspect of London's black history (see p12 of this week's TimeOut, for a sterling bit of inspiration). Winners get published, obviously, and there's the chance to win a camera or book tokens.
