  • A jumbo jet was forced into a series of steep dives over London earlier today due to instrument failure. The Standard screams: "The aircraft dropped to its minimum permitted altitude of 1,200 feet meaning it was seconds from a major disaster."
  • Mayor Ken is being urged not to block the expansion of London City Airport after he claimed recently that there would be no need for the airstrip once Crossrail is built.
  • Good reviews all round for A Moon for the Misbegotten at the Old Vic (Spacey breathes huge sigh of relief).
  • Spot the London locations for a couple of the snazzy new BBC idents.
  • Lily Allen's rider for her Virgin Megastore gig on Oxford Street last night contained a request for a room full of cider according to the Sun.

It's only nine paragraphs into the jumbo jet article before the Evening Standard finally admits...
"The incident happened on 10 January just after midday." And not today.

So, not in any way scaremongering, then.
