No-one could ever accuse Mark Thomas of not speaking his mind, and it seems he's been a particularly busy boy recently:
"The Government has been accused of being "too passive" in its policing of weapons exports, after a comedian and arms trade campaigner uncovered evidence of stun guns being advertised on UK-based websites and leg-irons being offered at a London arms fair," reports today's Guardian:
The parliamentary committee which oversees weapons exports commended campaigning comedian Mark Thomas for his undercover work, which led to official warning letters being issued to a number of companies.
And it urged the Government to be more active in monitoring the internet for evidence of sites offering illicit weapons and torture equipment, warning that the world-wide web is increasingly being used as an "arms emporium".
It gives Ebay a whole different meaning, doesn't it?
