This week

One of our favourite London bands Boy Kill Boy release new single Civil Sin today, the third single to be taken from their debut album Civilian. To celebrate the band complete with their very straight hair and swoonworthy eyeliner will be performing at the new Fopp on Tottenham Court Road at 5.30pm on Tuesday Aug 1.

Originally released last year on Fierce Panda, you can watch the new video online here which in parts was filmed in the Electric Ballroom earlier in the year.

Causing chaos everywhere they go, The Horrors will be playing a gig at Holloway Road's Puregroove Record Store on Wednesday Aug 2. Last time they played in London, fans queued outside the 100 Club for more than five hours before their performance, so we would recommend you get there somewhat early for this one.

Although not instore, Long Blondes are playing a free London gig this week at the Tate Britain. As part of the 'Late At Tate' season, the lovely LB's will be playing alongside Mercury nominated classic artist Scritti Politi as well as newcomers the 1990s. Cornorshop's Ben Ayres will be Djing between the bands and the night runs from 6pm to 10pm. Full details here.

Next week

Former Mercury nominee Seth Lakeman releases his latest folky album Freedom Fields inspired by the countryside of the West Country. Claimed by the Guardian to be a 'major star of the folk revival' Seth will be performing live and signing copies of his new single Lady Of The Sea at HMV Oxford Street on Monday Aug 7 at 6pm.
