Join the Village Fete at V & A - for tonight, the museum will be taken over by over 30 creative types who will be running stalls, activities and other village fete style stuff. Tombola, fish and chips, freaky vegetable competitions and body painting will abound. It's more family-oriented on Saturday if you're wanting to share the fun of the fete with the kids: you're encouraged to enter your little moppets in the V & A "Dress as a Design Icon" fancy dress competition. Anyone who spots a tiny tot looking like a Norman Foster building, please take a picture.V & A Village Fete, from 6.30pm tonight and all day Saturday, entry £1.00, children accompanied by an adult go free.

The caring and sharing of a village fete spreads to the National Theatre this evening with the Bring and Share team running the Friday Night Late Lounge in the foyer spaces: you're encouraged to bring your own music for the DJs to play in between their own sets and enjoy other people's musical choices too. Bring and Share at the National Theatre, from 10.00pm until late, paying bar, entry is free.

It's still hot out there and the ideal way to beat the heat, feel cultured and stay cool all at the same time this weekend is the Tooting Bec Lido outdoor, poolside film season Dive-In Movies starts today at 7.30pm and ends Sunday. Full programme of events and ticket prices can be found here.
