Open Garden Squares 2006: Now With Wine

Not much beats sitting in a private garden on a nice hot summer’s day, with a cooling glass of wine at your side. And where better to do so than in some of London’s most secret, quirky gardens, normally locked off from public view. That’s what Londoners have the chance to do this weekend. 140 times over.

Yes, Open Garden Squares Weekend is upon us again. It’s kind of like Open House weekend, but with more Titchmarsh. Everything from traditional garden squares to roof gardens and hidden courtyards will be opening their doors to all – 28 of them for the first time.

This year, the event has a refreshing twist with free vino at many of the gardens courtesy of Loire Valley Wines. So we’re going to need serious liver attention if we make it round anything like the 40 gardens we visited last time.

Open Garden Squares Weekend, 10 and 11 June, pay £7.50 at any venue for a ticket that lasts all weekend.
