You might remember a while ago we reported on the fact that the NFL was talking about holding a game in London, probably at Wembley Stadium.

Well today we read that the NFL have actually "provisionally booked Wembley Stadium for next October, five months after it is officially due to open."

The important word there, of course, is 'provisionally'.

If all goes well this could be pretty cool, as "The tie is likely to involve two of the East Coast teams, with the New York Giants a primary target." but there is a bit of caveat (apart from having a finished stadium to play in): "In order to stage a game in the UK, NFL Europe needs to match the profit margins of the major American Football venues in the US. This would mean attracting multi-million-pound sponsorship."

Anyone want to put millions of quid into a one-off event that relies on Wembey being finished a mere twenty weeks after it's scheduled to happen?

Anyone...
