The Sprite Urban Games start today - three days of extreme sports at Clapham Common. The world's best BMX, Motocross and skateboard riders will be present as well as opportunities to breakdance and freestyle all over the place. Even if you're not competing or body-popping, there's the latest of all urban outfitters and stalls for food and music to sample in between stunts and daredevilry from the B-Boys and breakdancers. Once you're done with being urban in Clapham, go to the V & A for their monthly Friday Late, this month's being Friday Late: Cuba. Live reggaeton, poetry, documentary film screenings and discussions with the film-makers, artist-led workshops, a bar, Cuban food and curator-led tours of the exhibition Che Guevara: Revolutionary & Icon are what you'll get for absolutely no entry fee whatsoever.

If you'd like to stay in one place for the day and get a fix of art-activism, then get up early for the Guerrilla Girls in town at Tate Modern for a day-long series of workshops and presentations about the Tate Collection and their take on things. This is a rare appearance in the UK for these artist-activists. The workshop at 10.30am is ticketed and costs £15.00, the multimedia presentation at 3.00pm is free on a first-come first served basis. It'll be feisty, fierce and feminist.
Otherwise, if you'd rather be more active than activist, do some running around at the second day of the Sprite Urban Games at Clapham Common.

Or if you're in the mood for a Latino day out, perhaps ignited by Cuba night at the V & A on Friday, go to the Coin Street Festival which is holding a two day Brazilian festival entitled Brasil, To Dentro! Roughly translated as "Brazil, I'm in!" the day starts at 1.00pm and goes on until 7pm, with live music from Brazilian musicians, both UK-based and making special appearances from Brazil, capoeira, samba and food, drink, arts and craft stalls. Then again, you might prefer to be indoors with a pile of comic books and a stack of films to watch. Who needs fresh air and Brazilian bonhomie when you have a special edition Star Wars Trilogy DVD boxset to keep you company? In that case, you might be interested to know that the London Film and Comic Convention is at Earl's Court 2 this weekend.
