Were You There?

Last night two secret gigs took place and we're feeling more than grumpy that we weren't there.

For starters the Arctic Monkeys played a tiny secret gig at Shoreditch's Old Blue Last pub on Great Eastern Street. A warm up for their Canadian tour this was the first gig where new bassist Nick O'Malley performed as part of the band replacing original member Andy Nicholson who is missing from the tour due to fatigue The Sheffield boys played a 40 minute set comprising 10 songs including their next single 'Leave Before The Lights Come On'.

Meanwhile the Radio 2 listeners amongst us were off having fun With Paul Simon at a West End Theatre where he was premiering his new album 'Surprise'. Recorded for a BBC Radio 2 show, Simon played 14 songs, backed by a 4 piece band, including 2 Simon & Garfunkel classics alongside 4 new songs. You can hear the concert on Radio 2 at 9pm on June 3rd.
