A day earlier than usual, here's the Londonist skinny on next week's giggage.

Tonight: Not just the Blang night we mentioned last week but also a night of aMIGO's blues-funk, courtesy of Tim Staffell, the man whose band became Queen, at the George IV, 185 Chiswick High Road.

Friday: So on the one hand we have glitterpunks Lorca at Purple Turtle making lots of noise and on the other Whirlwind Heat return with new album All Types Of Wood to explore new veins of art-punk sparsity at Club NME, Koko. Somewhere in the middle is another fine Blang night of anti-folk at the Luminaire with Lou Psyche, Um, Angel Racing Food and Seth of Doofus. That's Seth of New York’s jazz pop metal funk easy listening choral psychedelic folk orchestral reggae improv freakshow Dufus. Now that's told you. Six of your finest English on the door at 8.30

Saturday: Raison D'Etre's The night of the 1000 Dances takes place at Mass, St Matthew's Church, Brixton Hill from 9pm to 3 am with The Future Shape Of Sound and Portico Quartet playing live. £12 on the door with a free mix limited CD from dj Healer Selecta to the first 200 persons in.

Monday:Sample some soothing Swedish songwriting from Jeniferever at the Luminaire.

Wednesday: Trial and Error present a rare London show by Graham Massey’s jazz-techno orchestra Toolshed with support from Lions & Tigers and Trial and Error DJs. 8pm till 1, a tenner in at the Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen.
