A quick fly through some of next week's gigs starting with our our friends The Colonies, who are supporting The Big Strides and The Furies tonight at the 100 Club. The Colonies will be on at 8.40

Friday: If the name Tim Staffell means anything to you then you're probably a bit of a Queen fan. Once upon a time Tim was the singer and bass player in a band called Smile, alongside a guitarist called Brian May and a drummer called Roger Taylor. He was also good friends with a certain Freddie Bulsara from art college. Freddie took his place in the band, changed the name and Tim went on to become a commercials director and model maker working on Doctor Who, Hitchhikers and Brazil. Now he's back with his new band aMIGO and playing at The Hawker Centre, Lower Ham Road, Kingston upon Thames in a concert for the Mayor of Kingston’s charities. The event starts at 7.15, tickets are £10. Call the Hawker centre on 020 8547 5030 for more details.

There's a double bill of agit-punk metal from the loveable Fuckshovel guys, firstly on Saturday at the Underworld with Broken Silence and 7 Days Later and then on Tuesday at the Hope and Anchor. You'll be able to pick up one of their great hoodies with which you can terrorise your local mall .

Wednesday: Lastly a blast of high octane guitar pop from Donderdag ends the week at The Brixton Telegraph. That ctahcy little number that used to play on the Channel 5 idents. That was them. Enjoy and see you back here in 7.
