Mid Week Music News & Valentines Night Ticket Giveaway

Another fine week of gigs, and for those of you still undecided about where to take your better half or go stalking on Tuesday, we have a couple of tickets to give away for the Anti Valentines Day Massacre. Read on McDuff.

Tonight: Worth picking up a ticket or two (they're still available) for southern fried beardy rockers: My Morning Jacket, whose Z was one of last year's tripped out delights.

Friday: Anyone who has no regard for their hearing or sanity should be up at the Islington Academy for the Sun O))) / Earth show. Each note played has been carefully timed so that it will last for the entire gig, and it is quite possible that any dogs in the area will be running for cover as they are subjected to frequencies that will scramble their poor canine brains.

Monday: More spikey melodic Brit indie guitar pop plus violins with The Fallout Trust at 93 Feet East where they celebrate the launch of their new single: WashOut

Tuesday: Whether you're single, taken or just trying your luck wherever you can find it, the 14th of February can be (if you'll pardon the pun) a little sticky at times. So what better way to celebrate than to party your arse off at the The Anti-Valentines Day Massacre where Ladyfuzz, the Londonist sponsored Schla La Las, Manic Cough, and Hard Rock Hairspray play live alongside DJ sets from the awesome 'ten breasted rock machine' Tits Of Death and DJ Cherrystones. There'll also be gory film projections, stupid prizes and general raunchiness at the G-Lounge, 18 Kentish Town Rd, London NW1 9NX. Camden tube. It's £5 before 10pm, £7 after. 8pm till late. Recommended dress in bloody freaky.

If this sounds like your cup of tea, and knowing some of readers it certainly will be, or even if you just fancy a top night out away from the wine and roses, then we have two slots on the guest list for you to win. All you need to do is to send the names of the two people you want on the list to us here at londonist dot music at gmail dot com by Sunday 5pm with TITS in the subject line. We'll email you to confirm or deny your success. Remember that's two places on the guest list up for grabs and a ton of fun for the cost of sending in an email

Wednesday: Londonist fave Fiona Bevan supports Niall Connolly at the 12 Bar Club on Denmark Street. It'll be a fine way to soothe any stresses and strains left over from the emotional knife edge that is trying to do something special for Valentines Day. Unless of course you were at the AVDM show in which case it 'll probably just help you come back to earth.
