This post is a follow up to the one we wrote back in January entitled Serpentine To Remain Mountainless when "'unresolved design problems' ... led to an indefinite postponement," of the idea to build a mountain on top of the Serpentine gallery.
No prizes for guessing what's happnned now then.
According to today's papers those plans have now been "abandoned" due to "practical and financial problems".
Which is a shame, because London needs more mountains.
There is an alternative in the pipeline thanks to Rem Koolhaas who has been contracted to build the Serpentio
ne's pavillion for 2006.
