After a week off, London's friendliest alternative Friday night club, Popstarz, reopens tonight with a night in honour of its founder, Simon Hobart, who died last week.

Entry will be £5, all of which will be going to Simon's favourite charity, Macmillan Cancer Research.

We're hoping for good weather though, as with no queue jumps avaliable, we think the queue round the Scala is going to be one of the biggest seen in a long time. And that's even without the revealing of who the, quite frankly indie boy pants wettingly exciting, celebrity djs are.

For all those worried about the future of your favourite club, have no fear because Popstarz (and Ghetto & Trash Palace) will continue and be run in the way Simon ran it. Good, honest fun.

We'll be getting over our Londonist birthday party hangovers the only way we know how - with more beer! So we'll see you down the Scala from 10 to raise a can of Red Stripe to the great man.
