First Brits To Score On The New Wembley Stage

In a move away from the usual new Wembley Stadium sports and schedulestories we've been bringing you, here's one about the music. Even though the first band to headline the new stadium will be Bon Jovi, Robbie William had been hoping that his September gigs were to be the first of a British artist treading those hallowed boards. Of course it's possible they may have bought some new ones so they won't be that hallowed.

Now we hear he's been gazumped by those pesky OAPs, The Rolling Stones. That'll wipe the 1.6 million tickets in a day smirk off his face. Perhaps he should have signed up for the Take That tour, although they're only playing the Arena in April.

The Stones bring their Bigger Bang tour to the stadium on the 20th August with tickets going on sale at a range of prices to suit all needs this Saturday at 9am. Apparently some of the seating will even be built into the stage set, presumably for those who've followed The Stones from the beginning and may have a reduced sense of hearing and vision.
