Time once again to cast an eye over this week's gig going highlights.

Wednesday: If you haven't already been tempted by The Magic Numbers being nicer than is humanly possible at the Shepherd's Bush Empire or Hard Fi being T4 favourites at the Camden Electric Ballroom then why not check out the Tits of Death at the Vibe Bar, Truman Brewery, Brick Lane. Probably best not though if you're of a nervous disposition.

Thursday: Worth turning up early to catch punkazoid Nashville teens Be Your Own Pet rip through their support slot with The Kills at the Forum. Otherwise grunge driven shoegazers Amusement Parks On Fire are at the Angel Electroworkz, EC1 and Brit reggae legends Steel Pulse are at the Mead Fiddler.

Friday: Talking of shoegazing, German electro soundscapist Ulrich Schnauss plays the Water Rats. Expect much chin fuzz action in the audience. If you'd prefer your Friday a little more uptempo then Japanese lunatic rock chicks Afrirampo are at The Luminaire NW6

Saturday: To be honest there's only one show worth breaking into tonight and that's dimished rock legend Ronnie James Dio playing through his awesome debut Holy Diver. Not sure whether the mechanical dragon's gonna be there though.

Sunday: Black metal Brits Ackercoke sacrifice ear drums and Godly sensibilities at the Garage, whilst electropop ladies Chicks On Speed will be making life a little easier on the ears at Cargo.

Monday: Just whatever you do DON"T go see The Rasmus tonight. Anywhere.

Tuesday: Some kind of 21st century Brit pop nirvana going on tonight although you won't be finding many tickets left through the official sources for the Kaiser Chiefs, Maximo Park and the Cribs at Brixton. You could always revist a few fringe memoried with The Tears at the Hammersmith Palais or try out the next phase of melodic rockers with Morning Runner at Temple King's College, WC2.
