Yes, the fabulous Ms Kidman, fresh from twitching her nose in the rather lacklustre Bewitched, has decided that a spell (ahem) in London's theatre-land is just what she needs to cleanse her palate. She'll be appearing as the eponymous tragic heroine/manipulative bitch in Hedda Gabler, by famed Norwegian miserabilist Henrik Ibsen.

Nicole's last appearance on the London stage was, of course, all the way back in 1998, in the Donmar's production of David Hare's Blue Room. We know this, as every bloody article proclaiming her return to the West End - every single one - has mentioned the infamous phrase coined by Charles Spencer of the Daily Telegraph, the one comparing her nude performance to some sort of aphrodisiac drug. What was it? Oh yes, "pure theatrical Viagra". Hedda Gabler isn't noted for its nude scenes, being more concerned with the jealousies, schemings and tribulations of the respectable bourgeoisie, but we're sure an overabundance of clothing won't get in her way.
