Apparently, something called 'The Premiership' is kicking off this weekend. Bothered? Does Londonist look bothered, mate? Yes that's right, we're really not bothered at all. As far as we're concerned, the Premiership doggers are going to have to wait until the Londonist's bloggers have dragged their attention away from the cricket, which given that England are on top right now, isn't going to happen for a while yet.

However, we are always keen to recommend any interesting sporting events that are taking place in our fair city, and this weekend you could do worse than heading down to Twickers to watch the Middlesex 7s Tournament. Sevens is a great game , fast, furious and a lot more accessible and flowing than the 15 man version. Tickets will cost you £25, but you'll get a lot of games for your cash, and the good news is that the Premiership teams are sending some very strong squads down. Simon Amor, the Gloucester man considered to be the finest sevens player in the country, will be putting his skills on show, and it's also very nice to see the Wasps and England centre Stuart Abbott make a welcome return from injury.

Right, back to the cricket. I say! We've taken another wicket! Have a good weekend.
