Two-Minute Silence

There will be a two-minute silence at 12 noon today in memory of the victims of the bombings on 7 July.

There will also be a vigil at 6pm tonight in Traflagar Square to remember those who died.

We just observed this outside the British Museum - very moving. The whole forecourt came to a standstill.

Clearly not the only blog to write about the two minute silence but some thoughts on it over here:

Hypatia - that was a great post.

I'm near London Bridge too, but it seemed I was the only one in the building working from home today - or maybe they were all glued to the TV. I stood out on the balcony and sucked up some of that silence, aware as ever just how huge and old this place is.

Take more than a few misguided fools to get the better of this city.
