The call is out for new musicians and designers to take part in this year's City Showcase from the 5th to the 9th September, which will be supported as ever by XFM. But hurry you only have 28 days to get your designs or demos in.

Launched in 2003, City Showcase is supported by the Mayor as part of the London Development Agency's 'Creative London' initiative. The festival features new and emerging musical talent, some dressed by up and coming designers, and provides a unique mix of in-store performances, evening gigs and workshops.

Musicians have the opportunity to perform acoustic sets in West End stores and gigs at legendary venues such as the Borderline. A number will perform in clothing specially created for them by some of London's hottest emerging designers. All musical genres are covered including: rock, indie, pop, hip-hop, soul, R&B, world, folk, Asian, country, classical, jazz and dance - and any designs are considered.

The release does go on to say that City Showcase has an excellent record of spotting tomorrow's emerging talent today: Keane, Razorlight and Rooster all performed at the festival before they became the household names we know today. which some may find oxymoronic but then again they're all better known than you! Unless of course you're in Coldplay.
