Booking Ahead

Another pic'n'mix of live treats for you this week. So without further ado grab your scoops and we're off.

This week's giant fizzy cola bottle has to be the return of the Man Called Boss. In support of Devils and Dust, Bruce Springsteen will be at the Royal Albert Hall on May 27th and 28th. Anyone who caught his shows at Crystal Palace a couple of years ago will know he's still knocks out a great show. Either way tickets aren't going to be around for long for these solo shows. They go on sale today, Friday at 9am.

Suede, sorry The Tears (we did that gag a while back didn't we) are going to be playing instore and signing stuff at the Rough Trade shop in Neal's Yard from 5.30 next Friday (29th) and signing their Suede-like but excellent new single Refugees on Monday (25th) at the Virgin Megastore at 6. And that's free!

About a zillion people have already told us to catch funky punks (© Drowned in Sound) Weird War at the Camden Underworld on May 3. So we probably will and you should do too because we trust these people and you obviously trust us don't you...

Of course you do because we bring you the news that Drowned In Sound brought us (and possibly you too) that Sommerset House will be hosting a week of music once again this summer and already the forums are buzzing with Queens Of The Stone Age, Bloc Party and Sigur Ross. As they say round these parts: Cool!

Another gig we're gagging for is the legendary garage band, The Dirtbombs, from Detroit (for alliterative purposes only), who will be causing carnage in 93ft East on the 20th June. Also cool!

Equally legendary were LA hardcore band The Minutemen. But thay don't exist any more so you can't see them. You can see Mike Watt (ex of the Minutemen, obviously) at the ICA on the 2nd May. Look out for more from Mike on Londonist soon.

Also good to see that the very loud Death From Above 1979 have added another London date to their all too quickly sold out Scala show. They're at The Mean Fiddler / LA2 on the 23rd August.

And finally we still have time to mention Kaibosh who bring their soul-edged grit-rock Upstairs at the Garage next Thursday (28th). We ain't seen 'em yet but we do like the way they sound.
