Booking Ahead

It's mid month and funds are no doubt in short supply but if you do have a few pennies to spare Londonist recommends, for your listening pleasure, the following recently announced gigs:

A group who never forget to send flowers on Mothering Sunday, Motorhead bring their wall of sound to the Brixton Academy on the 19th November.

Nelly hits the Wembley Pavillion on the 14th June, so you can check out whether he's still cutting himself shaving or not.

Top indie pop and glorious harmonies abound as Teenage Fanclub make a welcome return to the Astoria on the 1st June after an extended abscence.

Camper than a field of tents, everybody seems to love Rufus Wainright, and his second date at the Shepherd's Bush Empire on the 16th June is selling fast so hurry up if you want to check out what all the fuss is about.

Meanwhile we have a beer sponsorship frenzy building. Carling Live 24 is back with 24 hours worth of Carling sponsored mayhem at selected London venues on the 30th April. Kaiser Chiefs, Embrace, Babyshambles and The Zutons lead year's charge although some of the shows are already sold out.

Not to be outdone, however, Budweiser are putting on Bud Rising, 20th to 30th May at non Carling sponsored concert halls across our fair city. Over 60 up and coming bands will preceed headline acts by Dizee Rascall, The Others, Delays, The Music and Supergrass amongst others. Sounds like a mix between the Camden Crawl, Live 24 and Wireless but could be decent. Check out their site for more details.

Tickets and booking fees available from all the usual, but we still like to pop down to see the lovely ladies at Stargreen on Argyll street once in a while.
