As there was no Friday Film News last week we had to wait until today to mention that the 19th LLGFF kicks off this week.

Beginning tomorrow with a showing of Prey For Rock and Roll at the Odeon West End, the festival last for two weeks and they've really pushed the boat out this year.

There's the "gay literary adaptations" series Telling Tales featuring films such as Maurice, Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, and Before Night Falls as well as a screening of the adaptation of JT LeRoy's The Heart is Deceitful... Above all Things which will be attended by LeRoy himself.

Other events include the How to Make Lesbian Porn - Instruction with video clips which includes "Airport the first German lesbian porn movie" (obviously!); and Booyaka! Ragga and Homophobia, a panel discussion of the homophobic content in Ragga music.

There's also LLGFF at Tate Modern which includes The Fall of Communism as Seen in Gay Pornography.

Wow, gay cinema gets all the best titles doesn't it?

You can book tickets for the LLGFF online here or ring the box office at the NFT on 020 7928 3232.
