Will FA Cup Runneth Over?

Colin W*nker (who rather amusingly is also an anagram of Neil Warnock) takes his Sheffield United group of ill-disciplined thugs to Highbury on Saturday (12:30 kick-off, live on BBC1) hoping to batter their way into the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup. They won't, of course, but it'll be interesting to see just how well Arsene Wenger's foreign Premiership nancy-boys deal with pure Football League brutality.

Ticket fiasco's aside, Brentford travel to the south coast to play Southampton in their 5th round tie. They may be two divisions above the Bees, but that doesn't stop them from being completely rubbish. If Martin Allen's side play to their potential, expect Sunday's back-pages to be full of bee/sting word-play.

Of all the London clubs competing in the FA Cup, Fulham look to have the toughest tie. The Whites who themselves are in decent form are away to Bolton who have won seven and drawn two out of their last nine outings. Charlton meanwhile should fancy their chances against Leicester City who've been bumbling around mid-table in Division Two for much of the season.

A potentially cracking cup tie takes place at St James' Park on Sunday when Chelsea take on Newcastle (4pm kick off, live on Sky). It's difficult to see the Magpies getting anything out of this one, but with Shearer back in the side and scoring goals, it could be a very excellent game indeed.

Tottenham have the easiest looking path to the next round, taking on Division Two relegation favourites Nottingham Forest on Sunday. However Forest will be well up for this, and if Spurs have one of their non-performances, an upset could be on the cards.

Two teams who are now Concentrating On The League™ are Millwall and West Ham. Both attempting to get their play-off ambitions back on track; the Lions are at home to Stoke City while the Hammers are at home to Plymouth.
