See that guy on the right? He's Londonist's official London Marathon representative.

His name is Jim Green, he's 33 years old, from Twickenham and he works for Penguin books as a designer. He's also a bit of a photography nut (here's his photoblog).

So why's he running the marathon for us? Well, to be fair, he's actually running the marathon for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, but we're going to make him wear a sticker with Londonist written on it...so that makes him our property too.

Jim Green: we own you!

So here's the deal: over the coming months Jim is going to write a marathon diary for us, documenting what it takes to get in shape in order to run 26.2 miles in order to raise £2500 (or more).

And obviously we're going to try and raise as much awareness of Jim and the JDRF cause as we can. We might also see if we can get to ride alongside him on a motorbike while he trains and shout things like "pick those knees up you big girl!". We've always wanted to do that.

We're hoping to get Jim's first diary entry in the next week or so, meanwhile you can view Jim's official sponsorship page here to learn more about JDRF and how much money has been raised so far.
