Brain Surgery Live

The Dana Centre is the experimental wing of the Science Museum. A collaboration between the museum, the British Association for the Advancement of Science and the European Dana Alliance for the Brain, the state of the art venue bills itself as a place which deliver science "In a very different way".

Now the phrase "interactive surgical experience" isn't something you'd expect to appeal to many people, but earlier this year the Dana Centre scored a bit of a hit with their 'cardiac classroom' i.e. a live heart bypass broadcast direct from an operating room in the USA.

On Wednesday this week the centre plays host to a follow up, and this time they've gone for the big one: the brain.

Brainworks- brain surgery live will see a live neurosurgery operation (again, from the US) broadcast into the centre; and viewers will also get a chance to quiz the surgical team after they've finished washing little bits of grey matter from their hands.

Tickets for the event are free but you should book via the Dana centre's box office: 020 7942 4040.
